During those years, his Father, who was a minister, got mixed up in the affairs of the Vampires at the very beginning of the Wars. He ended up becoming the "go-between" for illegal smuggling rings and other illegal activities. Eventually, Jaylen was killed because of it. In the winter of 3245, his mother was stricken ill with a bad case of Pneumonia. She too, eventually died. Therefore, Gabriel was left alone to care for his sister. There travels led them to Paris, France where they were eventually picked up by an orphanage for children who were victims of the war. Gabriel and Aeva spent the next 8 years there. In the summer of 3253, during a village wide festival for the children in the orphanage and the training encampment for The Resistance which was located only a few miles away. During the festivites they found themselves under attack by a rouge Vampire Horde. During the onslaught of the attack, Gabriel, trying to hide and protect his sister was attacked and was thrown through a window of the orphanage building. Hitting the ground he ended up being fully paralyzed and would have died had his 'Vampire savior' not come a long and changed him. No one knew who the hooded stranger was but since then Gabriel has had mixed feelings about him saving his life. For a long time, he wished he was left to die so he could be with his family. Later on, Gabriel was given news of his sisters death shortly after he woke up in Sidane surrounded by his new friends. His mother was of Native American decent and his father was part of a local Gypsy tribe.When he was born, his mother suffered complications which, in turn, made her very cronically ill.No doctor could diagnose what exactly was wrong with her. The sickness presenteditself as some sort of infection along with symptoms of pneumonia. The docotrs gave her a year, two years tops to live. Within that time, Chal had become very depressed as the love of his life was dying and there was nothing he could do. He drowned his sorrows in alchohol on a daily basis and in turn became very violent twoard his wife and son. When Thresh hit about 10 years old he began trying to defend his mother, which only got him hurt more. Once, his father even broke his arm. Chal was also part of a local militia group that would take long trips out of France and into other parts of Europe, training and educating other soldeirs. It was mostly during the summer months so Kaya would take her son with her to her tribe that relocated into the far outskirts of the French countryside. Thresh grew up with a love and respect for nature and a strong sense of protecting ones family. The following winter, Chal came home and the whole ordeal started again. This time, Chal hit his wife so hard that she fell and hit her head and thus she began bleeding internally into her brain cavity. After his mothers funeral, Thresh ran away from a friend of the family who he was staying with. He grew up alone, in the forests and would spend his time training. When he hit 18 he was turned by David Razzmen and went to live with him, raveling back and forth from Sidane to Grismore where he learned Shadow Manipulation and Fire Manipulation. When she was old enough she began working in a local bar/club as a singer/entertainer. She entertains the masses with her slight of hand magic acts. Her boss, and owner of the bar, fell into some financial trouble and needed to get out of debt as quickly as possible. So, he ended up "selling" Shera to those he owed money too. During this time Thresh was in Italy with David on a little Vacation and would spend his nights at the bar. After seeing her performance he became a frequent visitor. On the night she was "sold" he followed her to the man's house where he attemped to have his way with her. Though surprised at how much (and how well) she fought back, Thresh decided to tep in and help her. Shera stopped working at the club and went back to Paris with Thresh and David. Since then the two were inseperable and Shera eventually asked to be turned. "While your still young, I will be old Thresh...how then can we fufill the promise we made to each other...do grow old and die together...?" After she was turned, Thresh taught her the way of the sword and she was trained to become an Assassin for Sidane. One night, after Thresh had a bad run in with Adonis (hence his one blind eye) and Thresh, upset at himself for not being able to fight back and having to rely on David's help flung himsef into an alchoholic depression. When Shera, concerned, confronte him about it, he grew enraged and hit her, sending her half way across the room. For one night, he became his father which he hated himself for afterwards. All he could say, afterwards, to Shera wa: "Please...just stay away from me" and he ran out. Since then they haven't talked. That was 4 years prior. Though they still work together and see eachother, there relationship has been rocky. None of them see anyone else because deep down they still love eachother and Shera still desperately loves him. She is simply waiting for Thresh to learn to forgive himself because she forgave him the minute he struck her. |
